Tip for a Creative Life

Our minds are cluttered with to-do lists and other responsibilities. Often those details block our minds from being creative and having divergent thoughts. One way to help reduce the clutter is to allow yourself at least 15 mintues of free association writing every day. This should be done first thing in the morning and without the kids, TV or other distractions. Simply start writing and don't stop until you have reached your time limit. At first, you will probably write about the to-do lists and other daily details. Over time, you will learn to quickly move past that and begin to discover other thoughts that haven't been able to get through the gates. Don't worry about spelling or grammar and don't stop due to writer's block, even if you have to write,"I can't think of anything to write" 15 times. Have fun and discover something about yourself.
